About Reynolds Strength
๐ฅ Reynolds Strength x 318 Fitness โ Our Story
From Two Passions to One Legacy
It all started simple. Nick was chasing PBs in bodybuilding and powerlifting, pouring hours into training and learning the ins and outs of nutrition. Marina, on the other hand, was busy running her own hip hop dance studio โ teaching, choreographing, and inspiring others through movement โ while also running a supplement store, helping people fuel their fitness goals.
Two different passions, but the same drive: to help people push themselves, grow stronger, and live healthier.
It didnโt take long before those passions combined, Reynolds Nutrition was born.
Building Reynolds Nutrition
We started small โ with everyday clients who just wanted to feel better, get stronger, or lose a bit of weight. But Nickโs knowledge in bodybuilding quickly stood out, and soon Reynolds Nutrition became known for bodybuilding competition prep.
Clients came from across New Zealand to work with us, trusting us to guide them through the hardest stages of comp prep. Nick built customised training and nutrition plans that were second to none, while Marina stepped in to teach posing and stage presence. Together, we produced some incredible results.
๐ Athletes earning Pro Cards
๐ Dozens of competitors stepping on stage in federations like NZIFBB, NABBA Inc, INBA, and WBFF
๐ Both of us competing ourselves โ and earning top placings in our own divisions
Those years set the foundation for everything that followed.
Running Our Own Bodybuilding Competitions
Reynolds Nutrition had grown far beyond what we imagined. We werenโt just prepping athletes anymore โ we wereย running our own bodybuilding competitions.
These shows were a huge milestone for us. They werenโt just about lifting trophies; they were about building a community where athletes could showcase their hard work, dedication, and passion.
But while bodybuilding was our roots, we were also starting to feel a pull toward something else โ strength training and powerlifting.
Shifting to Strength & Powerlifting
Nick had always been drawn to powerlifting, competing first under the IPF banner. Before long, both of us committed fully to the GPC (Global Powerlifting Committee).
Over the next six years, we gave everything to powerlifting.
๐ช Top placings in GPC competitions
๐ช National records broken
๐ช World titles earned
Powerlifting reminded us what strength was all about โ not just physical, but mental. It was about resilience, about digging deep, and about proving to yourself that youโre stronger than you think.
2023 โ From Reynolds Nutrition to Reynolds Strength
As our coaching expanded, we realised Reynolds Nutrition was no longer just about bodybuilding. By 2023, it had officially evolved into Reynolds Strength.
We had broadened our reach, working with athletes across all sports codes and walks of life:
๐ฅ MMA fighters & boxers cutting weight for fights
๐ Rugby players building strength and power
๐ฃโ๏ธ Rowers & waka ama crews developing endurance
๐โ๏ธ Track athletes & runners chasing speed
๐ Volleyballers improving vertical jump and agility
โณ Golfers working on mobility and swing power
๐คฟ Divers & swimmers building strength, explosiveness, and resilience
๐ธ Models sculpting their bodies for photoshoots and stage
At the same time, we never lost sight of our lifestyle clients โ the mums, dads, and everyday people who just wanted to be healthier, stronger, and more confident.
From bodybuilding and powerlifting, to team sports, combat sports, and lifestyle transformations โ we had truly become Reynolds Strength.
2024 โ Taking Over 318 Fitness
Then came our biggest opportunity yet.
In 2024, we were given the chance to take over 318 Fitness, our local gym, from our good friend Mat Brown. Matโs passing was heartbreaking and left a huge hole in our community. He had built 318 Fitness into more than just a gym โ it was a hub of strength, belonging, and whฤnau.
We were honoured to continue what he started. Taking over 318 Fitness wasnโt just a business move for us โ it was a mission to carry on Matโs vision, to keep his dream alive, and to grow it into something even bigger.
